About the Artwork +
In this captivating Warli art, Dilip Bahotha paints the Season of Summer, Monsoon, and Winter. The seasonal cycle observed by the Warli tribe reflects their strong connection with nature and the agricultural rhythm of their region. In the summer season, the Warli tribe focuses on specific agricultural practices. The Warli people employ various methods to manage water resources efficiently. While the summer season is primarily focused on agricultural activities, the Warli tribe also celebrates festivals and engages in cultural practices during this time. The Warli people have developed strategies to deal with the heat and maintain their well-being. The Warli tribe experiences the monsoon season with joy, as it is crucial for their agricultural practices. The monsoon brings vital rainfall that nourishes the crops and ensures agricultural productivity. The rains are essential for the success of farming activities, and the Warli people eagerly anticipate the arrival of the monsoon. The rainy season is a period of hope, growth, and renewal for the Warli tribe. Winter is a relatively dormant period for agricultural activities among the Warli tribe. The focus shifts from active cultivation to planning, preparation, and maintenance of the farmland for the upcoming agricultural cycle. Winter is a time for the Warli people to engage in traditional practices and cultural activities. The winter season is marked by several festivals and celebrations within the Warli tribe. The festival is associated with the harvest season and the celebration of abundance.
