About

Manjushi is a historical marvel of an artform. This art form, which originated in the ancient region of Anga, present-day Bihar, was thought to be practised only by two castes: the Kumbhakar, who made the pots on which the art work was done, and the Malakar, who made the ceremonial boxes on which abstract folklore was painted. Manjushi, on the other hand, was not limited to simple objects and was also used to decorate houses and places of worship. This ancient artform was a vital part of the culture and tradition of those who practised it, conveying faith to people throughout history.
