Manoranjan Chitrakar portrays the spirit of love and romance with the radiance of their affection. At the heart of the composition, the couple stands in a graceful embrace, united in the celebration of love. They are both adorned in resplendent white attire, symbolising purity and the serenity of their affection. The choice of white emphasises the pristine and eternal nature of their love. The man, his attire in the purest of whites, holds a single red rose, a universal symbol of love and passion, which he offers to the woman. His gesture is a poetic declaration of his affection and a tribute to the timeless tradition of exchanging roses on Valentine's Day. The bold red of the rose stands out against the purity of their white clothing, signifying the intensity of his feelings. The woman, equally radiant in white, receives the rose with a smile that reflects the joy and gratitude that come from the heart. Her gaze, locked with his, conveys the depth of her emotions. The couple's connection is palpable, captured through their body language, their smiles, and the palpable chemistry they share. This Kalighat painting is a celebration of love on Valentine's Day, encapsulating the universality of affection and the tradition of exchanging tokens of love.
