Dwarka Prasad paints this Kavad painting of Vishnu's Avatar. The Dashavatar is the ten primary incarnations of Lord Vishnu. Lord Vishnu is said to descend in the form of an avatar to restore cosmic order. The painting depicts all the ten incarnations of Vishnu- The Matsaya or Fish avatar, the Kurama or the Turtle avatar, the Varaha or the boar avatar, the Narasimha or part Lion-part Man avatar, the Vamana or the dwarf avatar, the Parashurama or the Brahman warrior, Lord Rama, Lord Krishna, Buddha and Kalki.

For all artworks expect Lippan and Terracotta, No additional charges are applicable for domestic deliveries. For International Orders shipping charges of 2000 INR are applicable.

Shipping and Returns +

All artworks are packed and couriered securely in a tube.

Ready To Ship/ In Stock artworks are shipped in under 2 weeks. We only accept return requests for Ready to Ship/ In stock artworks placed within a week from date of delivery.

Made To Order artworks will take 2-3 weeks to be made and shipped once they are ready. Returns are not applicable on Made To Order artworks.

Dwarka Prasad is a national award winning Kavad artist .He has been engaged in the craft since his childhood.Kavad is a traditional craft of Rajasthan and depicts folk stories in a wooden structure . Dwaraka Prasad brings stories like recycling,Tsunami etc to life through his paintings in the wooden structures typical to Kavad . His work has been collected by many art collectors and also by organisations like the UN.


Kavad Art


The Kavad is a mobile story-telling device that sometimes serves as a temporary temple. It is created by combining the skills of carpentry, painting and narration. As separate professions, the carpenter is called a suthar, an artist is a chitrakar, and a story teller is a bhat. The Kavad makers combine the work of the carpenter and artist, while the Kavadia Bhats do the narration. The Kavad is made only in a village called Bassi, in Chittorgarh District of Rajasthan.
