Sikki Grass is a long, shiny, golden-coloured grass obtained from the lands of Bihar, particularly Mithila, used for weaving and decorating various objects.

The banyan tree is considered the national tree of the Indian subcontinent. It is a symbol of strength and longevity. The compositional frame is filled with a single delineation of a tree. The tree is rising from the bottom of the woven textile. The trunk is thick, suggesting the power of the foundational base, metaphorically. There is texture and dimensionality in its rendition. Upon the trunk, several branches are navigating, making it a larger-than-life composition, helping people to take shelter under the tree. The tree is growing in every possible direction, delineated with small, circular daisy-like blossoms, rendered in a stylistic manner. These are several in number, creating harmony, rhythm, and balance in the composition. The composition is detail-oriented with individuality. Moreover, between the branches, long tendrils are dangling, creating a visual balance with its vertical element. At the foreground level, grasses and some cereal plants are growing, suggestive of the beginning of a new life.

The composition renders the botanical life of nature with three-dimensional modelling. Furthermore, the composition is enclosed within a frame with the use of thin, long sikki grass.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1194/1498/files/1._A_Banyan_Tree_in_Sikki_Grass_Craft_by_Dhirendra_Kumar.jpg?v=1793101226
