This performative art is used for leather puppetry, which is popular in the Telangana region of Andhra Pradesh. Over time, this performative art also took its place in painting and decorative art.

The painting depicts two elephants, placed in a manner facing each other. The representation of elephants resonates with prosperity and good luck, according to the Vaastushastra. The artist has outlined the contours of the elephants in detail. There is no attempt to colour the figural representation; he rendered their anatomy precisely. The elephants are adorned with heavy accessories and a cloth placed on their backs. The facial features include lotus-shaped eyes with a graceful trunk, curving rhythmically, a tusk, and large ears.

Between them, a tree is flourishing, spreading its branches extensively, and flowers are blossoming; it resonates with prosperity. The entire picture frame is composed of miniature flowers and other motif details. The painting is shown with 2D perspective and in a stylised manner. The composition is set against the bright yellow coloured backdrop, soothing the viewer’s eyes and soul.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1194/1498/files/1._A_Pair_of_-Elephants_in_Tholu_Bommalata_by_Sindhe_Siva.jpg?v=1791779934
