This performative art is used for leather puppetry, which is popular in the Telangana region of Andhra Pradesh. Over time, this performative art also took its place in painting and decorative art.

The elephants are facing each other; in their midst, a tree is blooming with full zest. The representation of elephants and the tree resonates with prosperity and fertility. The artist has painted the characters with a vivid colour palette. The unconventional colours have been applied appealingly, with aesthetic pleasure. With a minimalist approach, the artist has rendered the anatomy of the animals with full precision. The elephants are adorned with heavy accessories and a cloth placed on their backs. The facial features include lotus-shaped eyes with a graceful trunk, curving rhythmically, a tusk, and large ears. In contrast, a tree is flourishing and blooming with three fully bloomed petals coloured with the primary colours of red, blue, and yellow, with leaves encircling them, conveying a notion of nourishment. Apart from the creatures, the composition is occupied with other minute patterns. The painting is shown with a 2D perspective and in a stylised manner.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1194/1498/files/1._A_Pair_of_Elephants-_in_Tholu_Bommalata_by_Sindhe_Siva.jpg?v=1791780371
