The word Pichwai literally translates to "at the back" (pich meaning back, and wai meaning hanging), referring to the massive, intricately painted cloth backdrops hung behind the main deity, Lord Shrinathji (a 7-year-old manifestation of Lord Krishna).

The composition is a modernised, abstracted version of a Pichwai lotus bloom, with pink blooms and green sepals and stems, with a gold background. In Pichwai paintings, the lotus symbolizes purity, spiritual enlightenment, and divine presence, acting as a sacred metaphor for the soul's transcendence above worldly attachments.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1194/1498/files/1._Lotus_Flowers_in_Pichwai_Plates_by_Dinesh_Soni.jpg?v=1791789981
