This performative art is used for leather puppetry, which is popular in the Telangana region of Andhra Pradesh. Over time, this performative art also took its place in painting and decorative art.

This cylindrical-shaped lamp features a composition of beetles in numbers, spreading across the cloth surface. Though they exist in tiny sizes in real life, the artist has painted them in enlarged view. The anatomy of the beetles is detail-oriented. The head with fangs, large bulging body with scales, and multi-legged reptile is painted with precision. The colour representation is unconventional, with an amalgamation of vibrant hues from red, yellow, pink, white, to green. With this kind of composition, the artist possesses the understanding that every living form in nature has the potential to become a subject of art. The rendition of the beetles conveys a sense of naturalism.

The base of the cloth of the lamp is perforated with holes, allowing the light to refract and illuminate every corner of the residential and commercial space. Hence, by integrating traditional art, one can achieve functionality and utility in contemporary times.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1194/1498/files/1._Beetle_Lamp_in_Tholu_Bommalata_by_Sindhe_Siva.jpg?v=1791441543
