Rooted in the traditional Rajasthani scroll-painting heritage historically performed by Bhopa narrators, this masterwork integrates vibrant polychrome central icons with delicate monochrome narrative vignettes, sacred Puranic shlokas in manuscript cartouches, and an undulating blue cosmic ocean motif enclosed within a broad crimson border.

At the center of the canvas rests a four-armed, dark-complexioned Sheshashayi Vishnu reclining upon the multi-headed serpent Ananta (Shesha) floating on the primordial waters, holding his divine attributes, the discus (sudarshana chakra), conch (sankh), and mace (gada). Attending to him is Goddess Lakshmi, massaging his feet in devotion. Surrounding this primary shrine is a rich composition of vignettes depicting the Dashavatara and cosmic events.

The top register churning of the ocean (Samudra Manthan) featuring Kurma Avatar (tortoise incarnation) acting as the base for Mount Mandara. The upper and middle register depicts sequential avatars including Matsya (fish), Varaha (boar lifting Bhumi Devi), Narasimha (man-lion vanquishing Hiranyakashipu), Parashurama, Vamana (including Goddess Aditi's Payovrata penance and devotion), Lord Rama, Lord Krishna, Buddha, and Kalki on his white steed. The bottom panel depicts a multi-headed, cosmic Vishwarupa manifestation of Vishnu surrounded by episodic scenes of Krishna's birth and life.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1194/1498/files/1._Divine_Forms_of_Lord_Vishnu_in_Phad_by_Abhishek_Joshi.jpg?v=1793010941
