Rooted in the traditional storytelling scroll-painting heritage of Rajasthan historically performed by Bhopa narrators, this piece captures the preservation of cosmic seed-life against a backdrop of deep blue oceanic waves framed by a rich crimson border.

At the center of the composition, a colossal, golden-scaled fish (Matsya) navigates the turbulent ocean floor, its horn tethered via the serpent King Vasuki to a peacock-prowed rescue vessel. Seated within the boat are King Satyavrata and the Saptarishis, rendered with hands folded in reverence as they are guided through the waters of creation. To the extreme right, the composition bridges avataric mythologies through a iconic profile of Lord Shrinathji, the seven year old swaroop of Krishna, featuring lotus eyes (kamalnayan), a pearl nose ring (nath), a diamond-adorned chin, and a lavishly ornamented turban crowned with peacock feathers (morpankh).

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1194/1498/files/1._Matsya_Avatara_in_Phad_by_Abhishek_Joshi.jpg?v=1793013876
