The painting depicts Radha twice, in a state of longing for her lover. She sits in her room while waiting for him to come to her. The inner turmoil of her heart is reflected by the strong winds outside. In the other setting she sits on a bed of lotuses, desiring him. In the background we can see peafowl symbolising the impeding union.
