Famous for its delicate brushwork, pastel color palette, and lyrical romanticism, it prominently depicts the divine love story of Radha and Krishna and local landscapes. Emerging after the decline of the Basohli school, the style took root in Haripur-Guler when local Rajput rulers gave asylum to refugee artists trained in the Mughal style. Standing in front of them is Lord Hanuman, in brown skin, with a maroon and gold dhoti-angvastra, adorned in pearl jewellery and an ornate crown, with his hand folded in the anjali mudra, showing reverence towards the couple. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe background is of a diwan-e-khas (private audience) that leads into the palace with green floors and a Mughal arched-niche wall. The asan is placed upon a carpeted floor of red patterned with yellow flowers and vines, with a black border with yellow florets and vines, with a golden decorative parasol placed above. The foreground is supported by a fluted tapering arch and jaali parapets.
