Traditionally rendered in natural pigments, gold, and silver leaf on cloth, Pichwai paintings depict the deity across the seasons and festivals of the Pushtimarg devotional calendar, combining fine detail with a scale meant to fill and frame the sanctum itself.

At the centre of the composition is Shrinathji in his iconic Govardhan Dhari pose, with his left hand raised gracefully, in his yellow garments (pitambara). He is heavily ornamented with pearl and gemstone necklaces, accompanied by flower and lotus garlands, gold and gemstone armbands and earrings, a nath (nose ring), and his signature peacock feather with a stylised headdress, the diamonds on his nose and chin adding to his beauty. His hair is braided with gold and gemstone accessories, as he holds a kamal chadi or lotus stalks along with his flute in his right hand. At his feet are the ritualistic Bhog, Paan Beeda (Beetle leaves), Prasad Dibbi, and a Jal Patra (Water Pot), along with a small Bal Krishna on an asan, as he stands in a niche frame with gemstone flower patterns on a gold base.

He stands in the midst of a lotus pond or kamal talai with his beloved companions, cows and peacocks. These cows are adorned with necklaces and have orange handprints on them, signifying divine protection and connection to Krishna. The orange feet and heads of the cows reflect the festive temple traditions of Nathdwara, where the cows were adorned during daily rituals and celebrations, while peacocks stand near him as they stand in the grassland with the kamal talai.

This composition is placed within a marble scalloped archway (jharoka) with fluted pillars and jalli-patterned parapets. It is further framed with a layered border with thin red strips encasing a thick yellow border ornate with lotus vines.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1194/1498/files/1._Shrinathji_Jharoka_Darshan_in_Pichwai_by_Kailash_Sahu.png?v=1785404129
