Traditionally rendered in natural pigments, gold and silver leaf on cloth, Pichwai paintings depict the deity across the seasons and festivals of the Pushtimarg devotional calendar, combining fine detail with a scale meant to fill and frame the sanctum itself.

At the centre of the composition is Shrinathji in his iconic Govardhan Dhari pose, with his left hand raised gracefully, in his yellow, green and blue garments. He is heavily ornamented with pearl and gemstone necklaces, accompanied by flower garlands, gold and gemstone armbands and earrings, a nath (nose ring), and an elaborately stylised peacock feather headdress, the diamonds on his nose and chin adding to his beauty. His hair is braided with gold accessories, as he holds his flute and kamal chadi in his right hand. At his shoe-clad feet are the ritualistic Bhog, Paan Beeds, Prasad Dibbi, and a Jal Patra (Water Pot) on stands, along with a small Bal Krishna - thakurji on an asan, with two white bolsters on either side. The front of the pedestal he stands on is patterned to display the kamal talai.

He stands in a niche framed in two layers. The first one in gold with gemstone patterns, followed by an orange border with leafy vine patterns and cows in gold. These cows are adorned with necklaces and have orange handprints on them, signifying divine protection and connection to Krishna. The orange feet and heads of the cows reflect the festive temple traditions of Nathdwara, where the cows were adorned during daily rituals and celebrations.

This composition is further framed with a layered border of thin terracotta strips encasing a thick pastel green border ornate with blue and pink floret vines.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1194/1498/files/1._Shrinathji_Raj_Bhog_Darshan_in_Pichwai_by_Kailash_Sahu.png?v=1785405864
