The artisans meticulously inlay fine gold or silver wires into hardened iron or steel surfaces to create exquisite floral, geometric, and royal motifs. This art form was brought to India by Persian craftsmen during the Mughal Empire, and was historically reserved for nobility, the technique was used to embellish royal weaponry and armor, including swords, daggers, and shields. Today, master koftgars (artisans) apply these intricate floral, geometric, and calligraphic motifs to modern decor, decorative boxes, and sculpted artifacts.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eAt the centre of this piece is a seated, veiled bride in the traditional rajput attire or poshak holding a flower by the stem in her hands.
