Traditionally rendered in natural pigments, gold, and silver leaf on cloth, Pichwai paintings depict the deity across the seasons and festivals of the Pushtimarg devotional calendar, combining fine detail with a scale meant to fill and frame the sanctum itself. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eAt the centre of the composition is Shreenathji in his iconic Govardhan Dhari pose, with his left hand raised gracefully, in his green and gold garments. He is heavily ornamented with pearl and gemstone necklaces, accompanied by flower and lotus garlands, gold and gemstone armbands and earrings, a nath (nose ring), and an elaborately stylised peacock feather headdress, the diamonds on his nose and chin adding to his beauty. His hair is braided with gold accessories, as he holds his flute and kamal chadi in his right hand. By his mojari-clad feet are the ritualistic Bhog, Paan Beeda, Prasad Dibbi, and a Jal Patra (Water Pot) as he stands within a marble chatri with a heavily gold-patterned background. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eFlanking him are two gopis dressed in traditional attires - ghagra, choli and odhani, in pink and blue with elaborate jewellery, one holding the bhog and the other holding a peacock feather fan and aarti lamp, as two other gopis dressed in pink and green play the sitar and sing his praises. There are sparrows, parrots, a peacock and peahen on a pavilion floor, with the Yamuna river adorned with blossoming lotuses with a golden peacock fountain. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThis composition is set in the Nandvan at night and is further framed with a scalloped arch with floral patterns that is a part of the larger pavilion.
