The word Pichwai literally translates to "at the back" (pich meaning back, and wai meaning hanging), referring to the massive, intricately painted cloth backdrops hung behind the main deity, Lord Shrinathji (a 7-year-old manifestation of Lord Krishna).

The composition of white lilies captures a lively spring scene complete with a fluttering butterfly rather than a rigid, stylised motif, with a gold background. While not a traditional, formal Pichwai render, this vibrant piece beautifully marries time-honored craftsmanship with a fresh, contemporary eye for the simple elegance of the natural world.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1194/1498/files/1._The_White_Lily_in_Pichwai_Plates_by_Dinesh_Soni.jpg?v=1791790106
