For over 500 years, the traditional art of block printing has been practised in Rajasthan, India. This rich artistic tradition found favor among the royalty as far back as the 12th century, earning its place as a cherished form of regal patronage. Block printing, a laborious yet tastefully minimalist process, involves the meticulous carving of wooden blocks to create elaborate designs. These blocks are then immersed in natural or vegetable dyes before they are tenderly pressed onto fabric, breathing life into the world of fabric printing.
