Gond Art Tutorial By Venkat Raman Singh Shyam

Posted on
Today, from the master of Gond art, a tutorial from Venkat Raman Singh Shyam Ji. Incredibly grateful that our wonderful artists are taking the time to share their art with all of us, patchy network notwithstanding , Venkat ji was painstakingly able to share these videos with us to be able to share with you. He has painted a beautiful Nandi(bull)- Venkat ji has incorporated new art techniques like wash painting in his work and you can see that his work really stands apart. A fun fact about Gond art - the patterns with which the artists complete the artwork are the unique signature of each artist, for e.g. Venkat ji's pattern is a Bindu(dot) and a half moon (semicircle), representing his village , and his community, how beautiful. Do try creating something, folk art techniques are so therapeutic, we would love to see what you create.

Gond paintings are real reflections of tribal people in India closely connected with natural surroundings. Since most of the paintings are painted around landscapes, Every Gond painting signifies a distinct aspect of the portrayed landscape in the most genuine way possible.I would bear in mind to check out IndianArtZone for traditional Indian paintings in the future. Thanks.
