Brilliant artist Chandrakant Bhulabhai's Mata ni Pachedi is a vibrant testament to the timeless legacy of Meladi Maata. This folk-art form, rooted in Kheda, holds a profound cultural significance. As a symbol of truth, love, and devotion, Meladi Maata is adored by a devoted pilgrimage following. In a remarkable twist of history, when the marginalized Vaghera community faced temple restrictions, they forged their sacred spaces by hand-painting the divine mother's incarnations on large cloth canvases. Bhulabhai's work combines block printing and freehand drawing, weaving together rich hues and intricate motifs to tell a captivating tale of tradition and resilience. This artform beautifully marries history, color theory, and heartfelt reverence.
