Join us for an immersive workshop with National Award-winning artist Vasant Manubhai Chittara, a master from the Vaghari community, to explore the centuries-old ritual textile tradition of Mata ni Pachedi.
While you may not be able to complete the full painting within the workshop time owing to its intricate nature, you will be guided through each step and learn how to finish it at home. To support your journey we will also form a group where you can ask questions, share progress and get feedback even after the workshop.
Please note: The painting requires an additional processing step after the colours have completely dried. Due to time and gallery constraints, this will need to be completed at home following the instructions provided.

In this hands-on session, you will learn the intricacies of this sacred art form and create your very own Mata ni Pachedi painting using traditional methods and materials. All essentials will be provided.
