In this monochromatic Gond painting, artist Venkat Shyam explores the concept of symmetry through a mirrored portrayal of two dogs. Originating in the tribal Gond community, which lives in close communion with nature, these paintings portray a strong belief that every aspect of nature is animate and sacred.
The artwork features two canine forms depicted in intricate linework, with one dog right-side up and the other inverted, creating a beautiful visual that invites the viewer to create their interpretation.
