Presenting a beautiful Tholu Bommalata inspired coaster by the talented artist Sindhe Siva as he captures the regality and grace of the elephant, a symbol of wisdom, power and prosperity in Indian tradition. The artform of Tholu Bommalata emerges from the traditional leather shadow puppetry of Andhra Pradesh, characterised by miniature floral forms and flowing linework.
At the center of the composition stands a majestic elephant, draped in an ornate caparison and garlands, depicting its ceremonial and divine nature. Overhead lies a floral canopy, with blooms reflecting festivity and joy, pretty stems and flowers creating a rich visual of nature, celebration and tradition seamlessly. Set against a black backdrop, the white elephant is also symbolic of Airavata, Indra's mount and a sacred elephant in Hindu mythology.
The black outlines and dynamic curves are characteristic of the shadow puppetry tradition, where each figure is meant to be seen not just as ornament, but as a bearer of story. This coaster holds meaning far beyond its utility, it is a celebration of grace, folk symbolism and living craftsmanship, bringing vibrance to daily life while supporting the preservation of Andhra Pradesh’s beloved folk art.

No, we currently sell artworks unframed (unless explicitly mentioned otherwise) and do not provide framing services.
