This modern floor lamp incorporates the traditional art of Tholu Bommalata, Andhra Pradesh's leather shadow puppetry craft, masterfully crafted by master artisan Kanday Anjanappa. The design reimagines traditional shadow puppet craft into a contemporary home accent, utilizing hand-painted parchment leather shades stacked vertically along a structural column.
The lamp consists of five tapered, faceted lampshades connected in a totem-like structure. Each shade is crafted from translucent leather, treated and hand-painted with black line art and warm yellow vegetable dyes. Detailed iconography features stylized elephants, peacocks and intricate floral vine motifs (lata) characteristic of Andhra folk tradition. Intricate pinprick perforations (punches) across the leather surfaces allow light to filter through, illuminating the internal detailing and casting a warm, textured glow. The piece is supported on a solid circular wood base with dark wooden spacer rings defining each segment.
Each of our artworks are hand painted by master artists across India. We provide a digital authentication certificate with this artwork signed by the artist which will be sent over email after 3-4 days of delivery of the artwork.

No, we currently sell artworks unframed (unless explicitly mentioned otherwise) and do not provide framing services.

Returns and Replacements

Delivery Timeline
This artwork will be Made to Order and will take 1-2 weeks to be made and shipped.
Once your order is placed, our team stays in constant communication with the artist to track the progress and ensure the quality of your order. You will receive regular updates from us throughout this process.
