About the Artwork +
Jayesh Sharma portrays a captivating Pichwai painting where Lord Krishna takes centre stage, surrounded by a mesmerising dance of the gopis in their resplendent attire. At the heart of this enchanting composition stands Lord Krishna, the celestial dancer and eternal source of love and grace. His divine form is resplendent, with his iconic dark complexion and a captivating flute in hand. Surrounding Krishna is a circle of gopis, the devoted female companions of Vrindavan, adorned in a rich tapestry of colourful attire. Their garments are a symphony of hues—vibrant blues, pinks, yellows, and oranges. Each gopi dances with abandon, their graceful movements echoing the rhythms of the universe. Gopis create celestial music with their veenas and drums, their melodies blending harmoniously with the enchanting tunes of Krishna's flute. The music and dance together create an atmosphere of sheer bliss and devotion. In the forefront, two majestic peacocks grace the scene, their vibrant feathers shimmering with iridescent beauty. Beyond the peacocks lies a serene pond, its still waters reflecting the divine scene. The lotus blooms on the pond's surface symbolise purity and enlightenment, adding a serene touch to the vibrant and joyous atmosphere. This Pichwai painting is a visual ode to the divine dance of Lord Krishna and the gopis, an invitation to partake in the eternal celebration of love and devotion.
