Kadam wood carving is a traditional Indian craft known for its intricate details and beautiful ornamentation. The wood of the Kadam tree, a type of flowering tree native to India, is prized for its soft texture, which allows artisans to create fine, delicate carvings.
The elephant's body is painted black, serving as a striking backdrop for the vibrant decorations. The carving features a golden blanket on its side, adorned with a floral pattern and colorful stones. At the center of the blanket, a circular miniature painting depicts a king in traditional royal attire, seated on a throne and holding a sword. The elephant's ears and trunk are painted in a bold orange, while its legs are decorated with red, green, and white ornamentation. Floral patterns in red and gold are painted on the elephant's side, and the overall design is highlighted with small white and green details.
