| Bio | Born on September 13, 1986, in Patangarh, Dindori, Braj Bhooshan Dhurwey embarked on his artistic journey after moving to Bhopal, where he refined his Gond painting skills through a 2012-2013 workshop and subsequent training under Kailash Pradhan at the Crafts Museum Delhi. With a Bachelor's Degree, he now professionally creates art on canvas, paper, and dupattas made with various types of fabrics, drawing inspiration from his seniors and primarily depicting nature and tribal themes, though he has also explored the theme of the Mahabharata as well. His distinctive style is characterized by unique patterns such as "rassi ka dhera," "machli ka jaal," and "rassi ka sumadora." While he faces no difficulties in the painting process itself, his main challenge lies in finding adequate platforms to showcase his work. Braj Bhooshan Dhurwey is deeply committed to preserving and advancing Gond art, aspiring to secure better platforms and ensure the art form's prosperity for future generations, even having moved his family to Bhopal to support this mission. |
