Santosh Uikey hand paints an amusing scene from the forest in this Gond painting. Gond culture revolves around the forest and is revered as the source of all life on sustenance in the Gond culture A peacock beautifully rendered in rich details and a muted palette can be seen perched on a tree trunk, holding a Sarangi (a string instrument) in its claws. Other animals of the forest, mesmerized by the sweet melody of the sarangi are attracted to the scene and enjoy the musical performance.
