This painting featuring fish, holds a symbolic meaning in Gond mythology and culture, where fish are believed to be the embodiment of the river goddess and are considered to be a symbol of fertility, abundance, and prosperity. Apart from their symbolic significance, fish also feature in Gond art as a source of food and livelihood for the Gond community.
