Inspired by the iconic deity of the Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple in Srirangam, this sculpture portrays the Lord in Anantha Shayana (cosmic repose) upon the majestic, coiled serpent Adisesha, whose five hoods rise protectively above him, gilded in resplendent gold. Ranganathar’s divine form is painted in a striking jet-black hue, exuding an aura of mysticism and majesty, complemented by opulent golden jewelry adorning his chest, arms, and crown. His dhoti, depicted in a brilliant red-orange shade with delicate pleats, enhances the visual contrast and adds to the lifelike elegance of the idol.
