This gorgeous pair of vertical Pichwai paintings by artist Dinesh Soni features serene white cows, called Kamdhenu and their calves nestled amidst dense, blooming lotus foliage. Finding its roots in Rajasthan, the traditional art form of Pichwai paintings is known for its inherent symbolism, playing an important role as sacred backdrops in temples dedicated to Shrinathji, a form of Bal Krishna.

Set against a deep red backdrop, the composition is brought to life with delicate white and blue lotus buds, accompanied by lush green leaves that spiral rhythmically throughout the frame. Lotuses are symbols of purity, beauty, and grace, and Shrinathji's traditional iconography includes a lotus stem in his hand with a kamal mala - a necklace of lotus buds.

Standing amongst the lotus are cows, rendered in white, symbolising purity, decorated with golden ornamentation, right from their horns to their hooves, with a bell around their necks and adorned with saffron handprints, a representation of their association with Lord Krishna and an indication of his divine presence. Portrayed along with their calves, the cows symbolize motherhood, nurturing, purity and devotion, making them central figures to the Vaishnavite tradition where they are deeply revered as companions of Lord Krishna.

The vertical format enhances the sense of upward growth and divine energy, while the repeated floral motifs echo the eternal cycle of nature and spiritual grace. Together, the pair is a testament to the devotion, abundance, and sacred harmony depicted through Pichwai paintings and the importance of cows as associated with Lord Krishna, making it a unique and beautiful addition to any space.

No, we currently sell artworks unframed (unless explicitly mentioned otherwise) and do not provide framing services.

Domestic Orders

All prices are inclusive of GST and applicable Indian taxes.

• We offer free shipping on orders above ₹1999 for all artworks, except Lippan, Terracotta and Thikri.
• A flat shipping rate of ₹499 applies to orders below ₹1999.

Lippan, Terracotta and Thikri

Shipping is charged on a per-kilogram basis, due to the delicate and bulky nature of these items.

International Orders

• A flat shipping charge of ₹4,000 applies to international artwork orders.
• Customs duties, taxes, or import charges in the buyer’s country are not included and must be borne by the buyer.
• Shipping rates for Lippan, Terracotta and Thikri artworks will be calculated based on weight.

Additonal Shipping Charges

Extra charges may be applicable for both domestic and international deliveries in the following cases:

• If the article requires additional packaging (such as a wooden crate) to ensure safe shipping due to its delicate nature.
• Custom-framed artworks.
• Artworks where shorter side exceeds 36 inches or Decor items with any side over 35 inches.
• If you request express shipping. Contact support to check availability.
• The order contains more than two different product types.
