This vibrant green Cheriyal mask by Sai Kiran is a part of Telangana’s storytelling tradition, crafted in paper mache as well as using cloth and tamarind seed paste and painted with bold lines so expressions are visible during performance.
This mask shows a bright green face with small horns, wide eyes and a huge open grin filled with sharp teeth. The strong black outlines, red mouth and exaggerated features give it an energetic, almost comic presence. Though the face looks fierce at first glance, the rounded eyes and stretched smile make it feel more lively than frightening.Its wide, unflinching eyes and exaggerated features echo the kolli kannu of Drishti paintings, where seeing and being seen becomes a quiet act of protection. Like the guardian faces once painted on Tamil Nadu’s walls, this mask turns bold imagery into a watchful presence that marks space and absorbs unseen harm.
In a story, this character is can be compared to the Hulk - powerful, loud and impossible to ignore. But like the superhero, his anger is never without reason. He appears when injustice happens, using his intimidating presence to scare wrongdoers into correcting themselves. Children in the audience might first feel startled, but soon realize he is not a villain, only a protector whose strength is used to restore balance.

Returns and Replacements
We offer replacements or repairs if your artwork arrives damaged or has a quality issue. As each artwork is handcrafted, we do not accept returns or refunds for orders received in the expected condition.
Delivery Timeline
Ready To Ship/In Stock artworks are shipped in 3-4 days. We only accept return requests for Ready to Ship/In stock artworks placed within a week from date of delivery. However, no returns can be accepted for international deliveries.
