About the Artwork +

In the Bastar Iron artwork, craftsman Sameep Vishwakarma depicted a human figure holding and placing a stick on his shoulder. Bastar is home to several tribal communities, each with its unique traditions and practices. The human figure and the stick symbolize a specific cultural activity or ritual. It represents a traditional dance, ceremony, or daily life in the region. Agriculture is a significant part of life in Bastar. The stick on the shoulder represents a farming tool or implement used by the local farmers. It symbolizes the importance of agriculture in the region's economy and culture. The artist used this imagery to create a visually appealing and culturally resonant piece of art.
