About the Artwork +
This Work holds several symbolic representations and deeper connotations within its imagery, reflecting the spiritual significance and the principles of equality associated with the Shakta sect and the goddess Durga.
The image of Durga on a chariot symbolizes her power and strength to overcome obstacles. It represents her role as a divine force that guides and leads humanity towards righteousness and spiritual enlightenment.
The presence of a male charioteer signifies the idea of balance and interdependence. It represents the importance of gender equality and the concept that both men and women play vital roles in maintaining cosmic balance and spiritual harmony. In this work, the depiction of Durga's chariot being pulled by three lions symbolizes her unparalleled power and authority over the forces of darkness and ignorance. It emphasizes her role as the protector of righteousness and the ultimate vanquisher of evil.
The depiction of the chariot over the sea represents the vast expanse of the universe, representing the ever-changing nature of existence. The presence of fishes within the sea signifies the diversity and interconnectedness of life. It highlights the idea of inclusivity and the interconnectedness of all living beings within the cosmic order, emphasizing the importance of treating all with equality and respect.
Through this artwork, the concept of equality is visually represented by the portrayal of Durga and the male charioteer working in tandem, alongside the imagery of lions and fishes, underscoring the interdependence and harmony that exists within the cosmic framework. This portrayal aims to emphasize the Shakti sect's belief in the unity of all beings and the importance of nurturing a balanced, equitable, and inclusive society.
