This framed koftgiri artwork by Shyamalata Gehlot features a finely inlaid metal depiction of a domed pavilion sheltering a circular medallion of Ganesha, rendered through delicate gold-toned wire inlay against a deep black background.
Koftgiri, a traditional Rajasthani technique of embedding precious metal into a darkened metal surface, is evident in the deity’s flowing contours. The architectural shrine motif evokes temple sanctity, while the central medallion functions as a devotional focus, transforming the piece into a miniature sanctum.
Mounted within a dark beaded wooden frame, the work harmonises regal architectural geometry with sacred iconography, showcasing Gahlot’s mastery in adapting a historic weapon-inlay craft to contemporary wall art.
