Our Gauri Terracotta Sculpture celebrates the divine Goddess Parvati and her significant name, Gauri, which signifies her identity as the daughter of the mountain (Giri). Inspired by an intriguing incident from the Matsya Purana, this sculpture tells the tale of Goddess Parvati's transformation. Originally known for her dark complexion, she embarked on a profound meditation to seek Brahma's blessings. Through her unwavering devotion, she obtained the boon of a fair complexion, and thus became known as Gauri, meaning "fair." Exquisitely crafted, our terracotta sculpture portrays Goddess Gauri riding on a lion, symbolizing her unlimited power and strength. With her ten hands holding various weapons and emblems, she represents divine shakti, harnessing the combined energies of the gods to protect the righteous and vanquish evil forces.
Packaging & Installation:
For larger terracotta artworks, pieces are securely packaged and hand-delivered in parts. Installation is coordinated with the artist and includes final touch-ups like colouring and fixing. Visible joints are a natural feature of terracotta art. Installation charges in addition to the artwork may apply and our sales team will get in touch with you for the same.
Each of our artworks are hand painted by master artists across India. We provide a digital authentication certificate with this artwork signed by the artist which will be sent over email after 3-4 days of delivery of the artwork.
