Ashok Kumar paints lord Ganesha seated in Lalit asana in this Tikuli art. The elephant head god is the patron of art & literature and is worshipped as the Remover of Obstacles before any new enterprise. His big elephant head is symbolic of wisdom and knowledge while, his four hands in cardinal direction are symbolic of the four inner attributes of the body - Manas, Buddhi, Ahamkara and Chitta. He sits comfortably on a blossoming lotus, which represents transcendence from the material world to the spiritual world while Ganesha's hands are in Abhay mudra as he blesses his devotees who worship him for fortune and prosperity.
