Jaipur blue pottery is a distinctive glazed ceramic tradition known for its Persian-inspired motifs, quartz-based body, and vibrant blue-and-white palette. Introduced to Rajasthan through Indo-Persian cultural exchanges, it is valued for its ornamental refinement rather than utilitarian weight. This plate features a harmonious arrangement of scrolling vegetal forms radiating around a subtle central axis. Rendered in soft blues and muted greens on a pale base, the design emphasizes fluid movement and symmetry rather than narrative detail. The continous curling vines create a meditative rhythm, reflecting the preference for ornamental balance and surface elegance.
Each of our artworks are hand painted by master artists across India. We provide a digital authentication certificate with this artwork signed by the artist which will be sent over email after 3-4 days of delivery of the artwork.

Returns and Replacements

Blue Pottery, originating from Persia and introduced to India in the 14th century, is a distinctive craft primarily practiced in Jaipur, Rajasthan. It is characterized by its vibrant blue color, intricate designs inspired by nature, Islamic, and Mughal art, and its unique technique that notably excludes clay, instead using a fusion of quartz, powdered glass, multani mitti, borax, and sodium sulfate. Artisans meticulously hand-shape or wheel-throw pieces, which are then sun-dried, glazed, and low-fired. Historically, it produced pots, vases, and tiles, but has evolved to include functional objects. The craft's prominence in Jaipur was significantly promoted by Her Highness Gayatri Devi, solidifying its cultural identity in the region.
