This decorative plate by artist Riyaz Khan is produced within the Kashmiri papier mâché tradition and is distinguished by its dense, repeating surface pattern organized through a disciplined arrangement. The composition is formed by closely spaced Chinar leaves, each rendered as a stylized blossom set within an interlocking lattice, creating a continuous and cohesive ornamental field across the circular plane.
The colour palette is warm and restrained, dominated by ochres, muted oranges, and soft greens laid over a golden-yellow ground. Fine black and golden-dark brown outlines articulate each motif, lending clarity and rhythmic consistency to the overall design. The repetition of forms generates a textile-like effect, recalling patterns found in Kashmiri shawls and manuscript illumination, where surface continuity and precision are paramount. Enclosed by a dark rim that stabilizes the composition, the plate exemplifies the Kashmiri papier mâché emphasis on controlled repetition, surface richness, and meticulous hand-painting, transforming a simple functional object into a refined decorative form grounded in tradition.

Returns and Replacements
We offer replacements or repairs if your artwork arrives damaged or has a quality issue. As each artwork is handcrafted, we do not accept returns or refunds for orders received in the expected condition.
Delivery Timeline
Ready To Ship/In Stock artworks are shipped in 3-4 days. We only accept return requests for Ready to Ship/In stock artworks placed within a week from date of delivery. However, no returns can be accepted for international deliveries.
