Rama, revered in Hinduism for his moral rectitude and regal demeanor, is a central deity worshipped widely. His tale, chronicled extensively in the Ramayana and other texts across South Asia and Southeast Asia, bears profound religious and cultural significance. In the Assamese Kham style of painting, artist Mridu Moucham Bora masterfully depicts Lord Ram. This traditional art form, dating back to the Ahom era, intricately incorporates Muga silk cloth and gold-plated leaves. Through this skilled craftsmanship, Rama's divine essence is brought to life, perpetuating his timeless legacy and inspiring reverence among devotees across generations.
Each of our artworks are hand painted by master artists across India. We provide a digital authentication certificate with this artwork signed by the artist which will be sent over email after 3-4 days of delivery of the artwork.

Assamese scroll painting is a traditional art form from Assam, northeast India, known for its intricate illustrations, vivid colors, and spiritual depth. These scrolls, created on materials like handmade paper, cloth, or bark paper, blend textual and visual elements to convey stories from mythology, religion, and daily Assamese life, often used in performance arts like Ojapali and Bhaona. Originating in the medieval period with the Neo-Vaishnavite movement led by Srimanta Sankardev, they served as visual aids for spiritual storytelling, particularly depicting Krishna Bhakti traditions. Artists utilize natural pigments from local minerals, plants, and charcoal, employing flat figurative painting styles with bold lines and detailed ornamentation in a continuous narrative format. Flourishing in regions like Majuli, Barpeta, Nalbari, and Sivasagar, these scrolls are central to Sattriya culture and Vaishnavite art, preserving Assamese heritage and offering insights into mythology and spiritual practices. Efforts are currently underway to revive this significant folk art.
