Radha Krishna's Divine Enchantment in Cheriyal Scroll Wall Plate by Dhanalakota Rakesh

This luminous Cheriyal Scroll composition by Dhanalakota Rakesh captures one of classical Hindu mythology's most iconic moments: Krishna, the divine cowherd, playing his sacred flute in the pastoral realm of Vrindavan, accompanied by his consort, Radha, surrounded by the animals and natural world that recognize and respond to his divine presence.

The composition's central figure, Krishna, standing in a dynamic pose, is rendered in brilliant blue pigment, dressed in vibrant red garments, wearing elaborate jewelry and an ornate crown, and most significantly, holds the sacred flute (murali) raised to his lips. The flute, rendered with precise golden lineation, becomes the focal point of the entire composition. Beside him stands Radha, dressed in a beautiful green saree and red blouse, adorned with necklaces, earrings, bangles, a waistband and anklets, her hair tied back in an elegant bun, decorated with flowers and hair ornaments. One hand holds her skirt while the other hnd is wrapped around Krishna's embrace.

Flanking the central couple are two sacred cows rendered in contrasting colors: a pink cow on the left and a white cow on the right, each adorned with golden necklaces suggesting their sacred status. The cows are rendered in profile with careful attention to natural bovine form, their postures suggesting peaceful engagement and acceptance of Krishna's divine presence.

Above the figure hovers a white bird, rendered with outstretched wings suggesting celestial presence or divine blessing. This bird represents the entire natural world's recognition of and response to Krishna's transcendent nature.

The background field is rendered in golden-olive tones with delicate red and pink floral motifs scattered throughout, creating a warm, sacred atmosphere. In the upper left, a large stylized tree features a dark brown trunk with yellow flowers bearing red centers rendered with repeating petal patterns, anchoring the scene in pastoral landscape while suggesting the eternal, blossoming nature of the divine realm.

The artist has employed the traditional Cheriyal technique of rendering the divine figure in distinctive color (blue) while positioning animals and natural elements around him in gestures of acceptance and devotion. The composition suggests that Krishna's divine power does not require force or compulsion; rather, the humans, animals and natural world voluntarily recognize and respond to his transcendent presence with love and affection. The flute becomes the primary symbolic vehicle for this idea, the divine vibration by which all creation is organized and sustained.

No, we currently sell artworks unframed (unless explicitly mentioned otherwise) and do not provide framing services.

We ship worldwide. All artworks are handmade and couriered securely in transit safe packaging sutaible for the artwork.

Domestic Orders

All prices are inclusive of GST and applicable Indian taxes.

• We offer free shipping on orders above ₹1999 for all artworks, except Lippan, Terracotta and Thikri.
• A flat shipping rate of ₹499 applies to orders below ₹1999.

Lippan, Terracotta and Thikri

Shipping is charged on a per-kilogram basis, due to the delicate and bulky nature of these items.

International Orders

• A flat shipping charge of ₹4,000 applies to international artwork orders.
• Customs duties, taxes, or import charges in the buyer’s country are not included and must be borne by the buyer.
• Shipping rates for Lippan, Terracotta and Thikri artworks will be calculated based on weight.

Additonal Shipping Charges

Extra charges may be applicable for both domestic and international deliveries in the following cases:

• If the article requires additional packaging (such as a wooden crate) to ensure safe shipping due to its delicate nature.
• Custom-framed artworks.
• Artworks where shorter side exceeds 36 inches or Decor items with any side over 35 inches.
• If you request express shipping. Contact support to check availability.
• The order contains more than two different product types.

Returns and Replacements

We offer replacements or repairs if your artwork arrives damaged or has a quality issue. As each artwork is handcrafted, we do not accept returns or refunds for orders received in the expected condition.

Delivery Timeline

This artwork will be Made to Order and will take 3 weeks to be made and shipped.

Once your order is placed, our team stays in constant communication with the artist to track the progress and ensure the quality of your order. You will receive regular updates from us throughout this process.
