In northeastern Nagaland, the loin loom is a culturally crucial, age-old weaving method for its sixteen tribes. This "back strap loom," anchored simply by bamboo and the weaver, creates symbolically rich textiles that record personal achievements, wealth, historical feasts, and past raids. This elegant contemporary wall hanging by Nagaloom is a timeless reflection of traditional craftsmanship from Dimapur, Nagaland, brought to life through the ancient backstrap loom technique by skilled Naga handloom weavers. This piece showcases a harmonious blend of cultural symbolism and minimalistic design sensibilities. The central panel features a striking composition of cream bands aligned against a rich, dark brown base, creating a rhythmic pattern reminiscent of tribal symmetry and architectural forms.
