This Traditional Wind Chime made by artist Salim, features finely crafted copper bells suspending from delicate copper jalis. This bell making craft is native to the Kutch region of Gujarat and is thereby called Ghantadi. The chime of the bells is customized to evoke the Sat sur or the seven notes of the Indian Classical music. The Craft of Copper Bell Making:  The practice of copper bell making is widespread in India and is carried out by various communities and artisans across the country. However, some regions and communities are particularly known for their expertise in this craft. In the state of Uttar Pradesh, the Moradabad district is famous for its brass and copper bell making industry. The artisans who practice this craft in Moradabad are known as "Kansaris." They belong to the Muslim community and have been practicing this craft for generations. In the southern state of Kerala, the artisans who make copper bells are known as "Kshetrias." They belong to the Vishwakarma community, who are traditional metalworkers and artisans. In the northeastern state of Assam, the Bell metal industry is concentrated in the Hajo area. The artisans who practice this craft are known as "Ghoshes" and "Dhakis." They belong to the Ojha and Saikia communities and have been practicing this craft for centuries. Other states in India where copper bell making is practiced include Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, and Rajasthan. In Tamil Nadu, the artisans are known as "Kalaris" and belong to the Vishwakarma community. In Gujarat, the craft is practiced by the Lohar community, while in Rajasthan, the artisans are known as "Kansariyas." The artisans use traditional hand tools such as hammers, chisels, and specialized stamps and the bells are dented and beaten with a hammer to get the perfect pitch. The bells are then finished using a process called "tempering," which involves heating and cooling the metal to improve its strength and durability.

Each of our artworks are hand painted by master artists across India. We provide a digital authentication certificate with this artwork signed by the artist which will be sent over email after 3-4 days of delivery of the artwork.

Domestic Orders

All prices are inclusive of GST and applicable Indian taxes.

• We offer free shipping on orders above ₹999 for all artworks, except Lippan, Terracotta and Thikri.
• A flat shipping rate of ₹249 applies to orders below ₹999.

Lippan, Terracotta and Thikri

Shipping is charged on a per-kilogram basis, due to the delicate and bulky nature of these items.

International Orders

• A flat shipping charge of ₹4,000 applies to international artwork orders.
• Customs duties, taxes, or import charges in the buyer’s country are not included and must be borne by the buyer.
• Shipping rates for Lippan, Terracotta and Thikri artworks will be calculated based on weight.

Additonal Shipping Charges

Extra charges may be applicable for both domestic and international deliveries in the following cases:

• If the article requires additional packaging (such as a wooden crate) to ensure safe shipping due to its delicate nature.
• Custom-framed artworks.
• Artworks where shorter side exceeds 36 inches or Decor items with any side over 35 inches.
• If you request express shipping. Contact support to check availability.
• The order contains more than two different product types.

All artworks are handmade and couriered securely packed in a tube.

This artwork will be Made to Order and will take 2-3 weeks to be made and shipped. Returns are not applicable on Made To Order artworks.
