This divine collection of Cheriyal art by D. Vinay Kumar is a unique and vibrant portrayal of the Dashavatara, or the ten main incarnations of Lord Vishnu. Cheriyal is a traditional folk art form from Telangana, India, known for its narrative style, bold colors, and intricate details. The artwork is presented as a set of eleven circular plates, with a central plate surrounded by the others.
The central plate features a detailed depiction of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi reclining on a serpent, a common and sacred scene in Hindu mythology. Each of the ten surrounding plates is a miniature masterpiece, portraying one of the ten avatars. The plates are all painted with a dominant red background, which makes the intricate details and vibrant colors of the figures stand out.
The avatars, including Matsya, Kurma, Varaha, Narasimha, Vamana, Parashurama, Rama, Balarama, Krishna, and Kalki, are each rendered in the distinctive Cheriyal style, with their unique attributes and iconography. This collection is a beautiful example of the narrative and devotional style of Cheriyal, celebrating a moment of profound spiritual and cultural significance.
Each of our artworks are hand painted by master artists across India. We provide a digital authentication certificate with this artwork signed by the artist which will be sent over email after 3-4 days of delivery of the artwork.
