This Bastar Dhokra sculpture represents Nandi, the sacred bull and vahana of Lord Shiva, rendered in the traditional lost-wax casting technique of central Indian tribal metalcraft.
The figure stands with a dignified, frontal presence, its curved horns, lifted head and compact body conveying alert devotion. Surface ornamentation including garlands, anklets and cloth echo ritual adornment associated with temple Nandi icons, while the linear texturing and segmented modeling reflect the hand-formed wax process characteristic of Dhokra artisans.
The warm brass patina and stylized proportions emphasize symbolic rather than naturalistic form, presenting Nandi as both sacred attendant and emblem of strength, loyalty and fertility within Shaiva tradition.
Each of our artworks are hand painted by master artists across India. We provide a digital authentication certificate with this artwork signed by the artist which will be sent over email after 3-4 days of delivery of the artwork.

No, we currently sell artworks unframed (unless explicitly mentioned otherwise) and do not provide framing services.

Returns and Replacements

Delivery Timeline
This artwork will be Made to Order and will take 3 weeks to be made and shipped.
Once your order is placed, our team stays in constant communication with the artist to track the progress and ensure the quality of your order. You will receive regular updates from us throughout this process.
