Ajit is a sixth generation Mata ni Pachedi artist who learned the craft from his father, Dilip, a fifth generation artist. Dilip ji has won both national and state awards. They are one of the ten last families in Ashoknagar that practise this profession (near Ahemdabad in Gujarat). They have had several shows in India and are aiming to further their Pachedi art by developing fresh goods such as face masks.
