This Gond painting by Manoj Tekam is a whimsical exploration of the forest's hidden inhabitants, focusing on the clever and watchful nature of the Siyar (jackal). In this composition, the artist moves away from a narrative of predation to one of camouflage and curiosity, showing four jackals playfully integrated into the structure of a grand, multi-textured tree.

The tree serves as a vertical stage for the four Siyars, who are depicted peeking out from behind the trunk and branches at various heights. Their bright orange bodies are filled with a delicate, fine-line pattern, making them pop against the muted tones of the bark. Each jackal is rendered with large, expressive eyes featuring the Gehu ke baal (wheat spikes) pattern on their cheeks, giving them an inquisitive and almost smiling expression. This repetition of figures creates a rhythmic, upward movement that draws the eye from the roots to the very top of the canopy.

The tree itself is a marvel of Gond patterning and textural contrast. The sturdy trunk is rendered using the Sarson ke daane (mustard seeds) stippling technique, providing a solid, earthy foundation. The foliage is divided into two distinct styles: large, rounded sections of grey leaves detailed with the Beni (braid) pattern, and darker, dense clusters of stippled black "mustard seed" leaves at the periphery. This division of the canopy creates a sense of depth and variety, suggesting a lush, thriving environment where the jackals can easily hide in plain sight.

Domestic Orders

All prices are inclusive of GST and applicable Indian taxes.

• We offer free shipping on orders above ₹1999 for all artworks, except Lippan, Terracotta and Thikri.
• A flat shipping rate of ₹499 applies to orders below ₹1999.

Lippan, Terracotta and Thikri

Shipping is charged on a per-kilogram basis, due to the delicate and bulky nature of these items.

International Orders

• A flat shipping charge of ₹4,000 applies to international artwork orders.
• Customs duties, taxes, or import charges in the buyer’s country are not included and must be borne by the buyer.
• Shipping rates for Lippan, Terracotta and Thikri artworks will be calculated based on weight.

Extra charges may be applicable for both domestic and international deliveries in the following cases:

• If the article requires additional packaging (such as a wooden crate) to ensure safe shipping due to its delicate nature.
• Custom-framed artworks.
• Artworks where shorter side exceeds 36 inches or Decor items with any side over 35 inches.
• If you request express shipping. Contact support to check availability.
• The order contains more than two different product types.
