Handcrafted by a master artisan with nearly five decades of expertise, this terracotta sculpture portrays Ayyanar, the revered village guardian deity of Tamil Nadu, often seen riding a majestic horse or elephant. Ayyanar is deeply venerated in Tamil folk culture for his role in protecting villages from evil spirits and ensuring prosperity. The artwork captures Ayyanar in a regal and authoritative pose, mounted on a finely detailed terracotta horse adorned with traditional ornaments, showcasing the grandeur of temple terracotta art. Rooted in centuries-old customs, the piece reflects the Tamil tradition of offering terracotta horses to Ayyanar as symbols of devotion and gratitude.
These artworks are exclusive national award winning pieces and are available for view and purchase for the very first time for NCR residents at ‘Kaarigar Sangam at the Kunj’ and are exclusively available for patrons outside Delhi through MeMeraki. These are being sold at no commission and are inclusive of GST , however shipping and packaging will be charged separately. Each of our artworks are hand painted by master artists across India. We provide a digital authentication certificate with this artwork signed by the artist which will be sent over email after 3-4 days of delivery of the artwork.
