Revered Bengal Pattachitra artist, Manoranjan Chitrakar portrays assorted motifs and patterns on separate wooden spatula. The artist showcases a blend of tribal motifs with floral layouts, infused with fishes on other spatulas. The use of tribal themes and floral patterns on the spatulas reflects the rich cultural heritage of West Bengal, as the state is home to various tribal communities. Incorporating tribal motifs pays homage to these indigenous cultures, in addition flowers and leaves are meticulously painted on spatulas, in Bengal Pattachitra art, representing the connection between humans and the natural world. Alternatively, in Bengali culture, fish is a staple food and a vital part of the cuisine, often considered a delicacy and is culturally symbolic. Depicting fishes on utensils is a way to honor the importance of fish in the daily diet.
